Weekend Photo Roundup

Another wonderful weekend has come and gone.  We absolutely live for the weekend in this house. As soon as Monday roles around we are counting down the days until Friday evening arrives.  This is what we got up to the past couple of days...

Friday evening we drove up to Main Street in Bountiful.  So charming. Who knew?!
What exactly were we doing on Main Street? Well....

The Utah Children's Theatre opened a new drama school in Bountiful!  I will be teaching Kindermusik classes there Wednesday mornings beginning in September.  The space is fantastic, Kindermusik is a great program, and we can help the Children's Theatre out by renting their space when they aren't using it. Win, win, win!

After visiting Main Street, we continued northward to the Centerpoint Legacy Theatre where we had tickets to see my friend Chantryce in "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying."  We had packed a picnic and originally had  planned to find a park to go to.  However, we spent longer at the drama school than planned and had to picnic in the theatre's parking lot! We parked in the back and I don't think anyone saw us.
I had never seen the musical "How to Succed..." before.  (It was revived on Broadway not too long ago with Daniel Radcliffe/Harry Potter in the leading role.)  The cast did a nice job but a lost bat that made its way into the theatre stole the show.  It spent most of the second act swooping around the audience members' heads!

Notice anything different?
No glasses!
Patrick ran out of contacts shortly after we got married and had been meaning to go to the doctor for an exam and new prescription.  This finally happened on Saturday.  I am so use to him wearing glasses that I keep thinking he can't see me when he has his new contacts in.
We celebrated his return to a glasses-free face by eating at Zupas.  Thank you Andrew and Nicole for the gift card. Tastiest birthday gift ever!

Saturday we caught a performance of "The Tempest" at the Utah Children's Theatre.  I am not a Shakespeare expert and didn't always know exactly what was going on during the show but I was still very entertained.  I learned my lesson though and will do a little homework before attending a Shakespeare play that I am unfamiliar with in the future.
The show runs one more weekend if you are wanting to check it out!

We are still working on getting our apartment just right.  We have had fun working on little projects together.  We found an unfinished chest of drawers at IKEA and some turquoise paint and couldn't be happier with the finished project!  Almost ready to post some apartment photos...

Patrick can now wear sunglasses since he has contacts again.  He looks so happy!
I am not sure what look I am going for though in this photo.

Sunday was spent at Noni and Pete's with an appearance by Mike, Anna, and their kids.  Patrick's cousin, Jordan, is staying the month with Noni and Pete and while the kids were over they stumbled across his hat collection.  We took a family photo and texted it to him since he wasn't home.  His reply text, :( I think the frowning face was because Jordan was sad he wasn't in the photo, not because he was mad.

Fun times.

Off to Boise

As wonderful as it was to visit Montana, I missed Patrick very much and was so happy to be home with him.  I think he was happy to see me, too...

While in Montana I found out that the Zumba Fitness training I was planning to take the upcoming weekend in Salt Lake City had been cancelled.  The training was so I could teach Zumbatomic, which is Zumba for kids.  I had already committed to teaching a full day of kids' Zumba classes for Dancing Moose Montessori School beginning mid-August so I was in a bind, to say the least.  Luckily, the same training was also being held in Boise the same weekend.  So as soon as I got home it was back on the road again.  I was glad that Patrick could come along on this mini-trip with me!

I have passed this sign so many times on my drives to Montana.  This was my first time to stay straight and head to Boise rather than towards Pocatello.   Off to the unknown!

Patrick's aunt and uncle live in Boise so we were able to stay with them.  I had met Julie and Dave during our wedding weekend but really didn't have a chance to get to know them.  They are such a fun family and I hope we can make another trip to Boise to visit them!

Zumbatomic is fantastic!  I enjoyed the training so much and I can't wait to get teaching!

Yellowstone National Park

I am so happy that both Kayla and Heidi mentioned that they wanted to visit Yellowstone National Park on our way back to Utah.  Since the route we usually take to and from Utah and Montana doesn't pass by Yellowstone, I never really think to combine the trips.  With only two extra hours of driving you can visit this amazing park.  Definitely worth it!

We only had about 4 hours to spend in the park so our priority was to see Old Faithful and then stop at as many others sites as we could with the time we had left.

Before.

After. (Or during?)

We really got lucky.  It was such a beautiful day. Not too hot, and not too cold. However, we weren't lucky enough to see any bison while at Yellowstone.  We did see one as we passed by Bear World.  Hopefully that counts.

I love all the colors.  What an amazing place!

Ennis, MT

We left St.Ignatius late Tuesday afternoon and drove to a little town call Ennis.  It is about an hour outside of Yellowstone, which was where we were heading next.  We stayed at a charming little cabin at the Lure Me Inn. The cabin all was decked out in fishing décor.  I love decorations with a theme.

I just want to take this cabin and place it on a little piece of lakeside property in Polson.

We all loved having my mom along for the trip home!

Heidi needed her pancakes so we had breakfast at the Sportsman's Lodge!  Ennis was a nice little town and I would definitely stay there the next time I head through Yellowstone.

Our Last Day in St.Ignatius

Our time in St.Ignatius went by so quickly! Here are some photos from our last day.

The kids had some much fun playing with "Nana Banana."  Best grandma name ever!

It took me the entire time in St.I to get a picture of Miss Quincey where you could actually see her cute face! How great is her trampoline hair?!

We stopped by the Amish owned Mission General Store to buy ice cream (huckleberry for me, of course!) and sandwiches.

Kayla was the driver for our 4-wheeler trip around the back roads.

Mission Dam

Picnicking at the Dam.

I had such a wonderful time visiting Andrew, Nicole, Sterling, and Quincey.  I am already planning a return trip.  Once their new baby has arrived I am heading back!

Heaven on Earth

In my opinion, Flathead Lake is heaven on earth.  It is the perfect combination of mountains, trees, and water.  It is the dream of my family to have a cabin on the lake someday.  The pressure is on. One of my brothers needs to get rich soon so we can make this happen!

The water was a perfect 75 degrees.

Captain Andrew

Heidi riding with no hands! Fancy!

We had some issues with the boat so Kayla ended up with a more mellow and relaxing tub ride.

Sterling, the Captain's Helper.  He kept peering through his hands to watch the person riding the tub to make sure they were okay.  Whenever someone finished their ride, Sterling would ask if they had fun as he handed them a dry towel.
You could tell this wasn't his first time out on the water!

Miracle of America

While in Montana, we spent our Monday afternoon at the Miracle of America Museum in Polson.  The museum contains 5 acres of a little bit of everything...
Old-fashion perming machine (I don't think I would have ever let anyone near my head with that thing)...

A two headed cow...

Tandem bike (Anyone know if there is somewhere in SLC where you can rent one? Patrick and I really want to for a date night)...

Religious artifacts...

Replica of a WIZARD OF OZ flying monkey (I was always so scared by those monkeys as a kid)...

And lots of war memorabilia.
It is mindboggling how much stuff there is at this place!  I think a sign said that there were over 150,000 items at the museum and it is constantly growing and changing.

There is not only plenty to see at the Miracle of America Museum but also plenty to do.
You can...
Visit the soda shop...

Hold hands with a bear...

Play the bottles...

Test your strength...

And make friends with a tin man.

Since there is so much to see and do at the museum, you'll probably be there for quite awhile and need a restroom at some point. Of course they've got that covered, too!
